Black Licorice Cold Process Soap - an in the pot swirl | making and cutting | Soy and Shea
I love all things licorice - except Dutch licorice - and I have wanted to make this soap for a long time. I have used the Nature's Garden Black Licorice fragrance oil and it is a well behaved oil and smells amazing - in fact, I could smell it outside my studio the whole time this soap was curing!
Each bar is decorated with handmade licorice pieces made from a mix of melt and pour or soap dough. Check out the "i" in the top right corner for a link to how I made them

30% Coconut Oil
20% Palm Oil
3% Shea Butter
42% Olive Oil
5% Castor Oil
Superfat – 5%
Lye and Water – I work at 33% Water but you can choose the amount that works best for you. The Lye amount can be calculated using your favourite soap calculator. I prefer to use
